Description

This new release provides steps to ensure solid, consistent documentation procedures throughout your company and can be used for business issues on communication, documentation, management skills, performance appraisals, performance evaluations, and supervision.

Help your employees:

  • Learn how-to document specific incidents that focus on behavior
  • Implement progressive discipline
  • Use the four-step FOSA system: Facts, Objectives, Solutions, Actions
  • Collect facts for a legally defensible termination

Disciplining employees is one of the most difficult parts of a manager’s job. Documenting performance is essential in correcting performance problems and protecting yourself as a manager. Using the Facts, Objectives, Solutions, and Actions (FOSA) method, managers will possess the tools to effectively and legally address performance issues.

Program Synopsis

Bob, a manager, is having problems with two of his employees. One has sloppy work habits and the other exhibits an “attitude problem.” Bob is ready to fire them both when a business associate gives him some valuable advice. She explains that unless Bob has good documentation, the terminations could be a legal disaster for Bob and his company.

Bob learns to implement solid documentation practices that give him a fair and consistent formula for dealing with problem employees. Bob learns to tell his employees what is expected of them, where they need improvement, how they can make improvement, and what will happen if they don’t improve. He also discovers that documenting discipline can not only make him a better, more organized manager, but also make his employees more effective.
